Dr. Smitha Nair
Dr. Smitha Sunil Kumaran Nair heads the Centre of Postgraduate Studies at Middle East College, Sultanate of Oman. An M Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, she holds a Ph D in Computational Biology and PG Cert in Academic Practices in Higher Education from Coventry University, UK. She is a recipient of the Incentive Award for Excellence in Faculty Research and Research Publications from Manipal University, India, Innovative Practices Award and MEC Academic Staff Award for Teaching and Learning from Middle East College, and has a mention in the Excellence in Academic Integrity in the Turnitin Global Innovation Awards 2018. She is also a Senior Fellow of The Higher Education Academy recognised by the UK Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and Learning support in higher education.
Dr. Charalambos Vrasidas
Dr. Charalambos Vrasidas is a co-founder and Executive Director of CARDET, an international non-profit research and development organization based in Cyprus with partners from around the world. He is a Professor of Learning Innovations & Policy and Associate Dean for e-learning at the University of Nicosia. He also serves in the Executive Committee of the International Council for Educational Media. He has been a Program Director for over 100 projects implemented around the work with a strong focus on online education and technology for inclusion. He has led projects such as MOOCs forInclusion (focusing on building a catalogue of free open education resources for inclusion), Digital Inclusion (supporting digital inclusion) and many more.
Dr. R.K. Kamat is currently Professor in Electronics and heads the Department of Computer Science at Shivaji University, Kolhapur. He is an accomplished University faculty with 25 years of rich teaching and research experience. He also holds the positions of Director of Innovation, Incubation and Linkages and Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell at Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Dr. Kamat has to his credit 125+ publications in journals from reputed publishing houses such as IEEE, Elsevier, Springer in addition to 12 reference books from reputed international publishers such as Springer, UK and River Publishers, Netherlands. The books have been placed in more than 400 Libraries all over the globe. He is also a recipient of Young Scientist award from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India under Fast Track Scheme. Dr. Kamat with his colleagues established the first of its kind fiber optics based internet backbone at Goa University. He has also worked as a Consultant for the ‘Indian Navy’ and ‘National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research. His latest initiatives include coordination of Internationalized Master Degree Education in Nano Electronics under the EU’s Erasmus+ scheme.
